Vidiots is ecstatic to welcome director Edgar Wright for an evening of epic epicness starting with a screening of his beloved cult classic Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
Director Edgar Wright stepped away from British comedies to direct this classic of Canadian cinema. Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, Wright’s beloved cult classic, follows the titular Toronto slacker and indie rocker (Michael Cera) overcoming his beloved Ramona Flowers’ seven evil exes and learning some self-respect in the process. Not only is Wright’s adaptation one of the best comic book movies ever, it’s one of the best video game movies, aping the structure of a sidescroller to give this wildly inventive comedy some 8-bit flair. Try not to fill up on garlic bread because movies as special as Scott Pilgrim only come around so often.
A conversation with Edgar Wright will follow this screening, but the fun doesn’t end there! Join us as Wright introduces one of the wildest movies of all time, Russ Meyer’s Beyond the Valley of the Dolls! Please note, separate tickets will be required for each movie.
