With a special video introduction from comedian, actor, and Founding Member Ify Nwadiwe for a special Juneteenth screening of the Los Angeles classic, White Men Can’t Jump.
This sports comedy classic stars Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson as two amateur basketball players looking to hustle each other on the street courts of L.A. They fight, they compete, they talk trash and trade insults about racial stereotypes, and ultimately they learn to play as an unlikely but effective team. Harrelson and Snipes are terrific on and off the court (they played most of the basketball games themselves, and you can feel the added realism), but Rosie Perez steals the show as Harrelson’s philosophical girlfriend, who’s obsessed with getting on Jeopardy! Come for Ron Shelton’s endlessly quotable script, stay for the neon fashion choices that scream “it’s 1992!”
