With a captive audience, Ricky is sure it’s only a matter of time before his beloved returns his affections. With all the color, humor, and punk rock effrontery you’ve come to expect from Almodóvar, this f-ed up Stockholm Syndrome rom com is the kind of boundary-pushing provocation that could never get made today.
