As the years pass, the two men hold on to their dream of seeing the outside world again, but their fragile hope is complicated by both Andy’s insistence that he’s really innocent and his participation in a financial scheme run by the prison’s warden. Initially a box-office disappointment, this thoughtful drama garnered universal acclaim, 7 Oscar nominations and plenty of word of mouth love and grew to the beloved staple it is today and the top video rental of 1995!
