A mix of live-action and animation, The Phantom Tollbooth, based upon the children’s adventure novel by Norton Juster, tells the story of Milo, a young boy stifled by boredom in his San Francisco apartment. When he unexpectedly receives a mysterious magic tollbooth, Milo drives through it and enters The Kingdom of Wisdom – a land in turmoil following the abduction of its princesses, Rhyme and Reason. After a series of remarkable interactions with the wise and wacky citizens of this other world, Milo must attempt to save the princesses – all with the help of his “watchdog” Tock. With wildly creative characters, unmistakable Chuck Jones animation, and the voice of the legendary Mel Blanc, this is one delightful adventure with an emphasis on the importance of literacy and imagination. So grab your best pup friend, hop in your toy convertible, and join us in the magical land of Dictionopolis.
