The film follows Kino, a pearl diver whose life shifts after discovering a rare pearl, bringing both hope and consequences. With stunning cinematography by Gabriel Figueroa and a powerful performance by Pedro Armendáriz, La Perla remains a defining work of Mexican cinema and is preserved by the United States National Film Registry.
