Adapted from the acclaimed novel by Larry McMurtry, this portrait of a dying Texas town is one of the defining masterpieces of ‘70s New Hollywood. Jeff Bridges, Timothy Bottoms, and Cybill Shepherd land their breakout roles as teenagers desperate to escape their community, while Ben Johnson, Cloris Leachman, Ellen Burstyn, and Eileen Brennan co-star as the adults struggling to accept their own dead-end lives.
