You don’t have to be a gun. You are what you choose to be. You choose. Join us for Brad Bird’s beloved and perennially relevant and poignant animated masterpiece The Iron Giant. It’s the late Fifties, and nine-year-old Hogarth Hughes lives in Rockwell, Maine, a seemingly idyllic town. Hearing stories of a UFO that crashed into the sea, Hogarth, always on the lookout for aliens, finds a huge, metal-eating robot with an insatiable curiosity and equally insatiable appetite. When the metallic extraterrestrial’s presence unleashes a wave of Cold War paranoia that threatens to engulf Rockwell, only Hogarth and his 50-foot friend can stop it in this heartwarming animated feature. Initially a box office disappointment, the appreciation and love for the film has only grown throughout the years, and it is now considered one of the most important animated features ever.
