One of the funniest comedies you’ve probably never seen, Elaine May’s screwy Neil Simon romance is top-notch hilariousness. Three days after his nuptials to the sweet but slightly annoying Lila (played uproariously by May’s daughter Jeannie Berlin), Lenny (Charles Grodin) meets tall, blonde, and aloof Kelly (Cybill Shepherd) and falls instantly in love – on his honeymoon. Now he’s got to ditch his bride and win over Kelly’s family – all of which goes ridiculously awry. An underappreciated classic that rarely screens and you won’t find streaming, don’t miss your chance to see this masterpiece of American comedy.
This screening is made possible with generous support from Golden Globe Foundation.
