With an introduction from sound designer Mark Mangini

This house is clean! Tobe Hooper’s spectral classic is ready to suck you into another dimension of domestic horror. A real estate agent battles for his child, family, and house when an evil force descends and lures his youngest child into a netherworld beyond their TV screen. A commentary on not only urban sprawl and development, but digging deeper into the history of imperialism as well, there’s more behind this haunted tale than your average paranormal activity. Successfully frightening throughout, with creeps around every corner, Poltergeist is the kind of classic that never gets old. And with the supposed curse upon the film, it’s one of those movies that’s supremely creepy on and off the screen (but always better ON).
