Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman’s chemistry and charm steal this extravagant show as his bleeding heart poet tries to court a career woman of the world’s oldest profession and star performer at The Moulin Rouge. Steeped in the drama and romance of classic musicals with numerous modern references and flourishes, Luhrmann’s work is crafted to be viewed in a theater, like few truly are.
When Nicole Kidman said “heartbreak feels good in a place like this” she was probably talking about this movie but we cannot confirm.
