Vidiots is euphoric to welcome Performance Artist, Novelist, and Filmmaker Miranda July for a special screening of her indie darling Me and You and Everyone We Know as well as Marya E. Gates who will be signing copies of her new book Cinema Her Way.
One of the best indie comedies of the aughts, Miranda July’s feature debut is remarkably sweet, funny, and thoughtful, and still feels fresh and singular after 20 years. A starving artist and a single dad awkwardly attempt to start a romance, but Richard’s divorce has left him with baggage and his sons clumsily try to uncovers the secrets of sexuality through speculation and internet smut. An offbeat rom com that stands alone – with sublime moments of laughter as well as existentialism – it’s time to fall in love with this beautifully crafted film all over again.
