What better way to spend a hot summer afternoon than a lush air-conditioned journey through picturesque Rome with Federico Fellini’s breezy and breathtaking masterpiece La Dolce Vita? Journalist and man-about-town Marcello (Fellini’s favorite and most frequent actor Marcello Mastroianni) struggles to find his place in the world as he floats through life in stylish mid-century Italy. He is torn between the allure of Rome’s elite social scene and the stifling domesticity offered by his girlfriend, all the while searching for a way to become a serious writer. Exquisitely photographed in black and white and featuring the luminous Anita Ekberg, Anouk Aimée, and a cast of dozens of faces only Fellini would film, it’s a three-hour-long soiree and you are the guest of honor.
