One of the best horror films of this century, It Follows manages to boil down horror’s most basic tenets into a post-modern sensibility, a film that’s essentially stripped down to the scares. As fresh as it is frightening, with methodical pacing, gorgeous cinematography, and an authentic and understated tone, the film grips the viewer into an unease so seldomly fully realized in film.  After a rendezvous in the back of a car, teenager Jay finds herself being followed by a mysterious entity that manages to change forms. None of her friends can see the creature, but they’ve all got to find a way to stop it before this STI turns deadly.
