Join us in our microcinema for the haunted Spanish vacation your summer was missing with this tender and otherworldly film of loss, ghosts, and grief from filmmaker Lucía Aleñar Iglesias. Cata will see her summer vacation disrupted by the absurd and sudden death of her grandmother, which only she witnesses. Her grief shifts when she casually turns to play pretend, transforming into the deceased. What begins with a game of dress-up will blur the lines of reality and family roles. With absolutely stunning cinematography (with an incredible use of framing), the exquisite backdrop of the Catalonian coastline, and a breathy and ethereal vibe, this is one of the loveliest ghost stories you may ever see.

CRITIC’S PICK “ENCHANTING… An exquisitely deconstructed ghost story, a muted mystery that beguiles while remaining deeply grounded in its evocative setting.”
— Natalia Winkelman, The New York Times

★★★★ LUMINOUS, SPELLBINDING… Tight and taut…a major discovery, handling grief with alluring stylistic choices that enhance the already remarkable narrative. If ghosts exist, Aleñar Iglesias has learned the cinematic sorcery to house them.”
— Carlos Aguilar, RogerEbert.com

“An unexpectedly tender ghost story.”
— Filmmaker Magazine
