Oh ya’, you betcha! Get your fill of a snowy Midwestern winter with icy scenery, colorful characters, funny accents, and the woodchipper heard around the world! The Coen Brothers are at their bleak best in this pitch-black dark comedy that bears endless rewatches, but none as fun as on our big screen. When car salesman Jerry finds himself over his head in debt, he hires two thugs to kidnap his wife, but he doesn’t count on their incompetence, or the dogged policewoman that’s hot on their trail. Frances McDormand solidified herself as a national treasure (as well as garnering a much-deserved Oscar) in her groundbreaking role as Marge Gunderson, a heavily pregnant and unassuming master sleuth. The brothers Coen won their own Oscar for their near-perfect screenplay for this eternal classic.
