Frances McDormand solidified herself as a national treasure (as well as garnering a much-deserved Oscar) in her groundbreaking role as Marge Gunderson, a heavily pregnant and unassuming master sleuth. The brothers Coen won their own Oscar for their near-perfect screenplay for this eternal classic.
