Join us as we Sing the Body Electric with the High Schoolers from the school for the Performing Arts. Not your average 80s fluffy musical, Fame is a tour de force of comedy, drama, perennially relevant social issues, and some of the best songs to come out of the 1980s from Irene Cara’s titular chart-buster to Paul McCrane’s touching ballad “Is It Okay if I Call You Mine” to the cafeteria disco staple “Hot Lunch”. A group of talented teens from New York deal with depression, substance abuse, abortion, sexual harassment, racism, illiteracy, and homosexuality – all while growing up and perfecting their dancing, acting, and musicianship – all culminating in a breathtaking finale performance. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and by god, you’ll want to sing and dance along!
