Join us in celebrating one of the most unique faces, voices, and personalities in cinema, the late great Udo Kier with a screening of the unhinged underground cult classic Blood for Dracula.
“To know Death…you have to f*&k life in the gallbladder!” If you’re in the mood for blood-vomiting vampires, the fall of the aristocracy, sex scenes with a side of Marxist theory, and liberal use of the words “wirgin” and “hoo-er,” you just might want to join us for one of the strangest vampire films ever made, from underground icon Paul Morrissey and Andy Warhol. Udo Kier stars as the infamous count, who is close to death for lack of wirgin blood. Fleeing to Italy the sickly count ingratiates himself to the destitute aristocratic family of none other than the Vittorio De Sica (Bicycle Thieves), but since the sexy young daughters of the family have been cavorting with their socialist house man (Warhol Superstar Joe Dallesandro), poor Dracula may not live long enough to find the blood of a true wirgin! Simultaneously beautiful, batshit insane, politically progressive, and absolutely hilarious, this slice of New York Underground Eurotrash is a must see for lovers of horror, queer cinema, cult cinema, and those of us who are just looking for the weirdest shit possible!
