We’re celebrating the great Diane Keaton with a special screening of her 80s cult classic Baby Boom! In the height of the 80s Wall Street boom, Diane plays J.C. Wiatt, a talented and ambitious New York City career woman who is married to her job and working towards partner at her firm. When a distant relative dies and leaves her as the caretaker for an adorable toddler this Tiger Woman has got to learn how to have it all, on her own terms, which of course means moving to Vermont and starting a gourmet apple sauce company and falling in love with the town’s veterinarian (let’s be honest, who wouldn’t fall in love with Sam Shepard?). A Nancy Meyers charmer with Diane Keaton at her most effervescent, James Spader at his smarmiest, and a great lesson about hanging up the corporate grind for work-life balance, Baby Boom still brings the laughs and the feels!
Remembering Diane Keaton:
Diane Keaton was always a genre unto herself. On and off screen, she was effortlessly funny, achingly honest, and unafraid to mirror back to us what it means to be human in an impossible world. She changed the very definition of femininity with her iconic fashion and unapologetic agency. She gave us women who think deeply, laugh loudly, and live on their own terms – and in every performance, a reminder that connection and authenticity are the truest forms of storytelling.
