I have always depended on the kindness of strangers! Hot summer days are made for Tennessee Williams’ melodramas and some of the most powerful acting in the history of cinema! Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Tennessee Williams, this renowned drama follows troubled former schoolteacher Blanche DuBois (Vivien Leigh) as she leaves small-town Mississippi and moves in with her sister, Stella Kowalski (Kim Hunter), and her husband, Stanley (Marlon Brando), in New Orleans. Blanche’s flirtatious Southern-belle presence causes problems for Stella and Stanley, who already have a volatile relationship, leading to even greater conflict in the Kowalski household. Nominated for 12 Academy Awards, including Brando’s first of four, and Vivien Leigh’s second win, this classic is a master class in acting and filmmaking.
