Vidiots is thrilled to welcome back our neighbor, screen legend John Michael Higgins for a special screening of A Mighty Wind in remembrance of the remarkable Catherine O’Hara, followed by a conversation with Higgins!
Hey, wha’ happened? We’re getting folksy AND getting the bands back together for Christopher Guest’s third hilarious mockumentary/musical, A Mighty Wind starring a dozen of the funniest people on the planet. Three eclectic, never-quite-famous folk bands come together for the first time in decades following the death of their manager to put on an reunion concert in his honor. With all the Spinal Tap band members as their alternate personas as The Folksmen, Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy as Mitch and Mickey, the doomed ex-lovers, and the New Main Street Singers who worship colors, it’s a cavalcade of washed up talent all ready for the stage again after all these years. The songs themselves range from authentic and beautiful, to historically grim, to downright hilarious and toe tapping, while the story has more bittersweet and human moments than its predecessors while never skimping on the laughs. Get your tickets for the comeback concert of the year – while they still last!
