Danny Boyle breathes new life into the world of the undead with this gritty, frenetic, and fantastically bloody journey through a zombie-infested, post-apocalyptic UK. 28 days after a violent car accident, bike messenger Jim (Cillian Murphy) awakens from a coma to a world ravaged by “the Rage,” a virus that turns its victims bloodthirsty and primal. Jim flees the infected and encounters another group of survivors, led by Selena (Naomie Harris), cab driver Frank (Brendan Gleeson) and his daughter (Megan Burns). Together, the group sets out in pursuit of a rumored safe zone in Manchester with the flesh-eating undead close behind. Boyle’s visceral, bloody, and high-octane horror thriller offers a bitter reminder that the only things worse than zombies are people.
