Senior Video Store Manager
Vidiots Foundation is looking for a Full-time Senior Video Store Manager to join our team!
The Senior Video Store Manager is an integral leadership role on our Video Store Team. Under the supervision and in support of the Video Store Director, this role will be responsible for impeccable management of the Video Store team of Managers, Clerks, and Volunteers. Alongside the Video Store Director, this role works closely with Vidiots’ Front of House, Box Office, and Operations teams, and is responsible for ensuring a collaborative, efficient and smooth workflow, and for maintaining the highest standard of customer service and operations.

What you’ll do:
Under the direction of and in collaboration with the Video Store Director:
- During scheduled daily shifts:
- Ensure excellent and efficient performance of daily tasks, including providing impeccable customer service and accessibility, ensuring consistent venue cleanliness and efficiency
- Clear and efficient delegation of tasks to Managers, Clerks, and Volunteers
- Provide excellent customer service and address patron questions and concerns
- Oversee and monitor staff rest and lunch breaks, and shift start and end times
- Oversee reconciliation of receipts and adherence to money-handling procedures
- Monitor staff and patron safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and proper handling, reporting, and investigating of minor incidents
- Hire, train and manage Vidiots’ Video Store Managers, Clerks, and Volunteers
- Create, oversee and manage the department’s weekly staff and volunteer schedule of approximately five staff members, and numerous volunteers
- Ensure team adherence to organizational policies and standard operating procedures
- Oversee and delegate additional daily administrative tasks as needed, including inventory ordering, organizing physical media donations, and upkeep of rental catalogue
- Work closely and collaboratively with other departments to support the highest levels of production on screenings, special events, fundraisers, and community gatherings
- Support the management of patron and member queries and feedback in a professional, timely manner via in-person, email, and phone communications
- Additional administrative duties as needed and assigned by management
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills with a collaborative, positive, kind, calm attitude
- Minimum five (5) years experience managing a staff of five or more employees at a brick-and-mortar, customer service-oriented business and/or venue
- Minimum three (3) years experience scheduling a team of 25 or more employees
- Minimum two (2) years in a hiring position
- Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed (candidates who cannot reliably commit to set schedules will not be considered)
- Detail oriented with excellent and effective scheduling and communication skills
- Comfort using Airtable and Google Apps (Drive, Docs, Sheets)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple teams in a brick-and-mortar, customer-service oriented space
Desired Characteristics and Qualities:
- Passion for and strong desire to work in a customer-service oriented art space
- Strong understanding of the importance of physical media
- Passionate about building community through social interaction around film and media
- Deep knowledge of and interest in film history, aesthetics, and contemporary film culture
- Capacity to balance short-term needs with longer term vision
- Fluent Spanish and/or Tagalog and/or ASL speaker a plus
Work Schedule
- 40 hours-a-week role on-site at Vidiots
- Nights and weekends as needed and determined by Video Store Director
- Must be based in the L.A. area
Compensation
- $33 an hour

Work Environment and Physical Demands
- This position works primarily in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, and strong visual effects
- Employee will occasionally be required to stand, sit, and stoop
- Employee must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Employee must be able to see in order to operate machinery and tools
- Employee must comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols
