Senior Front of House Manager
Vidiots Foundation is looking for a Full-time Senior Front of House Manager to join our team!
Senior House Managers are essential leadership roles on Vidiots’ Front of House (FOH) team, acting as strong and effective leaders for FOH and Box Office Staff to ensure impeccable customer experience and service, and maintain an efficient, clean, safe, welcoming environment for all patrons and guests in a busy seven-day-a-week venue. Senior House Managers report to the Executive Director, work closely with FOH Managers, and collaborate with all other departments to maintain the highest standards of operations and events.

What you’ll do:
Work closely with the FOH Management and Operations teams to:
- Hire, train, and manage FOH and Box Office Staff of approximately 15-20 employees
- During scheduled floor shifts:
- Manage and support FOH and Box Office staff to ensure excellent, efficient customer service and performance of daily tasks
- Manage and record staff rest/lunch breaks, and shift start/end times
- Manage accurate financial reconciliation, money-handling, and reporting
- Address patron questions/concerns, and coordinate with others to resolve issues
- Monitor and respond to staff and patron safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and reporting of incident
- Regularly monitor and trouble-shoot POS systems and bar/concessions equipment
- Create and implement operational SOPs
- Create and disseminate team schedules
- Collaborate with all teams to facilitate impeccable execution of screenings and events
- Manage accurate inventory/equipment ordering, budgeting, record-keeping, and reporting
- Ensure venue is in accordance with health code and safety requirements
- Manage team personnel issues, including coaching and incident and resolution reporting
- Maintain and organize required staff certifications and trainings
- Ensure excellent venue maintenance, including rapid response to venue/operations issues, handling minor repairs if possible, and coordinating with vendors when necessary
- Additional duties as needed and assigned by management
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years experience in customer service and staff management
- Minimum three (3) years experience in food and beverage management at fast paced, mid-sized to large venue(s), e.g. restaurants, bars, film or music venues etc.
- Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed (candidates who cannot reliably commit to this need and/or set schedules will not be considered)
- Excellent customer service and management skills, and a positive, kind, calm attitude
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to prioritize effectively
- Knowledge of and ability to manage ticketing and POS systems (e.g. Stripe and Filmbot)
- Detail oriented with excellent and effective scheduling and communication skills
- RBS certified in properly/safely serving alcohol and food
Desired Characteristics and Qualities:
- Passion for and strong desire to work in a customer-service oriented art space
- Interest in and desire to build community through social interaction around film and media
- Experience with facilities and building maintenance
- Comfort working and setting priorities independently
- Fluent Spanish and/or Tagalog and/or ASL speaker a plus
- CPR certified
Work Schedule
- 40 hours-a-week role with scheduled hours both on-site at Vidiots and work-from-home
- Must be based in the L.A. area
Compensation
- $33 an hour

Work Environment and Physical Demands
This position works primarily in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, and strong visual effects.
- Employee will occasionally be required to stand, sit, stoop, and climb ladders
- Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Employee must be able to see in order to operate machinery and tools
- Employee must comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols
