This Stephen King adaptation crawls with atmospheric dread from the opening scene to the closing credits, inhabiting a special place in the psyche of all those who have witnessed its bloody, psychotic mastery. Jack Nicholson stars as Jack Torrance, a down-on-his-luck writer who accepts a caretaker job at the historic Overlook Hotel. After packing up the wife and child, this family fraught with their own demons embarks on a journey of isolation, madness, and mystical mind games culminating in a terrifying fever dream. A quintessential horror from one of America’s greatest directors and one of our most popular novelists.
