Louise is a teenage nerd with dreams of popularity, romance, and style that always seem to elude her. But when she happens upon the witch Madame Serena (played by Poltergeist‘s Zelda Rubinstein), she discovers she’s about to come into her magical powers upon her 16th birthday. But even as all her dreams come true, she’s finding out that magic isn’t always enchanting.
