Part of a tribute to trailblazing Mexican actress Katy Jurado.
The only film Marlon Brando ever directed, One-Eyed Jacks is an engrossing western, with Oscar-nominated cinematography from Charles Lang and a powerhouse performance from the luminous Katy Jurado. Running from the law after a bank robbery in Mexico, Dad Longworth (Karl Malden) double-crosses his partner Rio (Marlon Brando) and makes off with the gold, leaving Rio to be captured by the law. Years later, hellbent on revenge, Rio escapes from prison and tracks Dad down to California, only to find his old buddy now a respected lawman, comfortably married to a widow Katy Jurado.
