This deliriously entertaining Hong Kong crime flick has one of the all-time great movie plots: an undercover cop (Tony Leung Chiu-wai) infiltrates a gangster’s crew, while a dirty cop (Andy Lau) secretly acts as an informant for the mob. When both sides realize they have a mole, it’s a race against time as the two men must expose their opposite before they’re caught. (And if that sounds familiar, it’s because Scorsese rode the remake all the way to long-awaited Oscar glory.) So is this even better than The Departed? We’ll just say that one of these movies has Tony Leung’s haunted, sadboi eyes and one doesn’t, and let you be the judge.
