Join us for a delightful all-ages program celebrating the classic animated films of Fleischer Studios – the pioneering animation studio run by brothers Dave and Max Fleischer that were the first to introduce sound in animation and inventors of rotoscoping (tracing human movement from film) as well as the originators of Popeye, the first Superman cartoons and of course the most popular female cartoon heroine of all time – Betty Boop. This program includes cartoons from the 1910s and 1920s, all starring the clown that started an empire Koko the Clown, lovingly restored from original film elements in 4K spearheaded by Max Fleischer’s granddaughter, Jane Fleischer Reid and accompanied by a Live Piano Performance.
