After the Maitlands find themselves dead and trapped haunting their old home, they must share their quaint Vermont home with a couple of New York implants and their “strange and mysterious” teenage daughter. When they enlist help from a deranged spirit to rid themselves of their affluent parasites, no one could imagine the hell about to be released. As creative as creepy with an absurdly imaginative view of the afterlife and mind-blowing practical effects, Tim Burton is at his best in this eerily original comedy.
