Vidiots remembers the life and legacy of singer, songwriter, and actor Kris Kristofferson
Love, fame, music, tragedy! Streisand and Kristofferson light up the screen in this stylish and rocking rendition of the age-old story that has now had five different iterations. Drunken, has-been rock star John Norman Howard falls in love with unknown singer Esther Hoffman after seeing her perform at a club. He lets her sing a few songs at one of his shows and she becomes the talk of the music industry. Esther’s star begins to rise, while John’s continues to fall. She tries desperately to get John to sober up and focus on his music, but it may be too late to save him. With Polly Platt’s production design, a legendary soundtrack, the stunning backdrop of the American Southwest, and some of Barbra’s best outfits (which she supplied herself from her own wardrobe) – this film was made to be experienced on the big screen with our top-notch speakers to hear two of the greatest voices of the 20th Century.
