West Coast Theatrical Premiere

One of Julia Reichert’s final films, 9to5: The Story of a Movement tells the true story of the real-life fight that changed the American workplace and inspired a classic film.

This is the funny, inspiring, and true story of real-life secretaries who couldn’t take it anymore and started organizing against their sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bosses. This grassroots movement inspired Jane Fonda to make the classic satire (and a Vidiots favorite) Nine to Five, which in turn gave birth to Dolly Parton’s classic song. The documentary features the founders of this movement and Jane Fonda herself.
