Programming Coordinator
Vidiots Foundation is looking for a full-time Programming Coordinator to join our team!
Vidiots’ Programming Coordinator will play an essential role in our Programming Department to present our heralded year-round film screenings and events. This role is responsible for the day-to-day administrative needs of the department, including detailed coordination with nearly all other departments, including Marketing, Projection and Booth, and Front of House, and liaising with external partners to ensure seamless planning and execution of our seven-day-a-week screening and events schedule. This position supports film curation, scheduling, and other administrative needs as determined by the Director of Programming.

What you’ll do:
- Under the direction of the Director of Programming, act as administrative liaison between Marketing, Box Office, Projection, and Programming
- Support the Programming department with administrative needs related to film and media licensing via archives and distributors
- Coordinate the detailed updating and daily maintenance of Vidiots’ programming database, and other related administrative tools, to ensure consistent and accurate calendaring and recording of event details required by other departments to ensure flawless event production
- Collaborate with and support Vidiots’ Programming Manager on the execution and proofreading of film notes, website descriptions, and event listings
- Coordinate with the Projection team to ensure smooth and timely print traffic and shipping
- Coordinate with special guests to book travel, accommodation, and guest-related services
- Track deadlines and coordinate calendars between departments
- Research and brainstorm film and media titles as requested by Director of Programming
- Provide support at events as needed, including talent handling and introducing screenings
- Coordinate additional projects and duties as needed
What you’ll bring to the table:
Required Qualifications:
- Three (3) to five (5) years experience as a Programming Coordinator or similar support role in a non-profit or for-profit cinema, film festival, or comparable arts organization; experience in repertory film booking and/or film licensing a significant plus
- Three (3) to five (5) years experience working with talent on travel and accommodations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including clear communication of schedules, quick response times to email and calls, and commitment to meeting deadlines
- Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills
- Basic knowledge of and familiarity with film and media distributors and archives
- Positive, professional disposition and enthusiasm for developing strong relationships with a wide array of coworkers, partners, and colleagues both internal and external
- Strong public speaking skills and interest in developing such skills for introducing film screenings and moderating post-screening conversations with talent and guests
- Experience writing film notes (e.g. online descriptions, printed film guides, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of film history, aesthetics, and contemporary film culture
- Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
- Knowledge of and comfort using Microsoft Office, Airtable, and Google Apps, specifically Drive, Docs, Spreadsheets, and Slides
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple teams in a brick-and-mortar, customer-service oriented space

Work Environment:
- 40 hours-a-week role with scheduled hours both on-site at Vidiots and work-from-home
- Must be based in the L.A. area
Compensation:
- $65,000 annual salary to start
