We’re bloody excited to welcome authors, podcasters, and Super Vidiots, the Wives Colangelo, B.J. and Harmony for a special intro for the cult classic slasher Sleepaway Camp and a book signing of their new book about the 80s horror staple.
Initially considered “just another slasher film,” Sleepaway Camp defied all expectations and developed a cult following centered on its hilariously mouthy young cast, shockingly good special effects (and laughably silly ones), and a controversial ending still debated over 40 years later. Thanks to writer/director Robert Hiltzik’s determination to justify his intended “shocking” ending, this divisive, low-budget summer camp slasher became an unintentional albeit vital text in the queer horror canon, sparking decades-long debates that continue to this day.
